Ibn Mas'oad RadiyAllahu `anhu narrates that Rasullullah Sallallahu `alaihi wasallam said, "Whoever reads one letter of the Book of Allah is credited with one blessing and one blessing is equal to tenfold the like thereof in its reward. I do not say that الم (Alif Lam Meem) is one letter, but '(ا )' (Alif) is one letter, ' ( ل )’ (Lam) is one letter, and '( م )' (Meem) is one letter." (Tirmidhi)
Ibn Umar RadiyAllahu 'anhu reported that the messenger of Allah sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said "The example of the companion of the Qur'an is that of an owner of a tied camel: if he is vigilant over it , he will hold onto his camel; if he releases it, it will go away." (Buhkaree, Muslim)
